Brazed plate heat exchangers
The stainless steel heat exchanger plates are brazed with copper by default and can withstand pressures of up to 30 bar.
- Easy to service and maintain thanks to highly efficient self-cleaning based on the turbulent flow in the flow gaps
- Efficient cooling capacity combined with low cold water consumption
- Wide range of applications, including for aggressive media or with double plates to prevent the media from coming into contact with each other

Plate heat exchangers consist of a stack of stamped heat exchange plates which are either brazed together or clamped together in a frame with gaskets. Medium flows in the gaps between the plates where hot medium (which will be cooled) alternates with cold medium.
Thanks to their compact design, their highly turbulent flow and the counterflow principle, they generate extremely high levels of heat recovery. Temperature harmonisations of up to 1 K can be achieved.

Screwed plate heat exchanger
The stack of heat transfer plates and gaskets is clamped together with clamping screws inside a frame. Screwed or gasketed plate heat exchangers are usually specifically designed for the application and customised to the respective requirements.
- High thermal performance thanks to CFD-optimised corrugated field on the heat transfer plates.
- Simplified cleaning and maintenance by means of visual gasket identification and the use of clip-on gaskets.
- Safety heat exchanger versions with double plates and a special sealing system to prevent the media from mixing even if the plates get damaged.

Plate heat exchangers with closed-loop control
The WTRE is used as an intermediate circuit for cooling motor spindles, gears, hydraulic power units and cooling lubricants. It is generally used in combination with the existing cooling unit. The coolant is pumped from the pump of the cooling unit through the plate heat exchanger of the WTRE to the machine tool. If the existing plant cooling water is cold enough, the compressor is not needed and so stays switched off permanently.
- Fixed value control of the medium temperature; the temperature of the operating medium can also be optionally monitored along the ambient temperature (air or machine bed temperature)
- High precision electronic controller
- Lower operating costs by saving energy
- Simple conversion: no need to modify the machine tool's electrical system or PLC
